About Sprout & Blossom Farm
We are a small-scale farm focused on growing specialty and heirloom varieties of vegetables, flowers and herbs. When we say we grow everything, we aren't kidding and grow a large variety of things!

Although not certified everything is grown using all organic practices, with no chemicals, or any weird stuff. We are a low/no till farm. The broad fork is one of our favorite tools for prepping beds and even though it takes a bit more time, it's worth it for the benefits to the soil. We believe in nourishing the soil and creating more than we are taking. We do this by adding lots of compost, cover cropping, and using methods that create more life in the soil. We believe that farming should be regenerative to the soil, and done in a way that respects and nourishes the land. We love to experiment with companion planting and intercropping.

The main outlet for everything grown on the farm is our booth at the Vancouver Farmers Market. In the past we have offered a CSA program, but have decided to take a break to explore other outlets.

Over the last few years we've been diving deeper into cut flowers and medicinal herbs. We love creating with the things we grow and have started to offer specialty herbal skin oils, spices and salt blends, dried herbs, floral creations and so much more!

Currently we are growing on property that we lease in Vancouver/Brush Prairie, Washington on shared land with another farm. Our dream is to own our piece of land that we can call our home forever!

Meet the Farmer
Lyndsay is the owner, operator and farmer of Sprout and Blossom Farm.
I definitely grew up a city girl. Born and raised in Alexandria, VA a suburb of Washington, DC. my childhood was far from the farm life I currently live. After graduating from High School, I went on to attend school at James Madison University studying Graphic Design and Interior Architecture. During my freshman year I was required to take a GenEd Sociology course. This was when I was taught about Industrial Agriculture and the negative impacts of it on our environment. Throughout school I dove deeper into learning more about agriculture and focused a lot of my art projects around it.
I needed to learn how to grow my own food and after graduating instead of heading to the design industry, I decided to pack my car, drive west and volunteer through WWOOFING on an organic homestead in Hood River, OR. From there I was hooked and wanted to learn more about farming, which led me to the Zenger Farm apprenticeship.
After my apprenticeship was over, the opportunity to start my own farm surfaced.
For me growing food using all organic practices and then some is a must. By creating a symbiotic relationship between plants, animals and humans we can combat environmental impacts, health issues and strengthen our relationships with each other and the earth. Food is one of the greatest connectors, as we all have to eat and we all deserve to be eating nutritious and ethical food.
